Ever wished you could copy multiple things to the clipboard and then choose which one to paste? I have but find myself pasting one then copying the other and pasting it.

Well today we have a Windows 10 tip that allows you to select from items in your clipboard to paste. This means you can copy a number of things and choose which one to paste where. One thing to keep in mind is that this seems to only work with text and not for files and other such things.

Open your settings app.

Click on the System settings category.

In the system menu, select Clipboard from down near the bottom of the list.

Once you have selected that, turn on the Clipboard history option. It explains it in there for you as well that pressing Win + V (instead of Ctrl + V) will give you a menu from which you can choose recently copied text.

Please note: It won’t start keeping a history till this is enabled, so after enabling this setting you will need to copy a few lines of text to see the result. Open a text editor or somewhere you want to paste into and instead of pressing the standard Ctrl + V to paste, press Win + V…
