Let me start by saying… don’t look at the sun, and don’t point your camera at the sun with a telephoto lens on. It’s likely to damage your image sensor.
I took this photo a while ago now, at a time my country was suffering through huge bush fires that were burning all across the country. It’s a rare occurrence that allows one to look directly at the sun without much risk of damage to oneself or the camera, but this day a mixture of storm clouds which threatened to bring some much needed rain, and heavy smoke led to the chance at the right moment to point my telephoto lens at the sun.
I was reminded of this recently thanks to an extreme level of fog we had one morning. It was quite unusual for my location and it hung around for well after the sun had come up. During it I was able to look up at the sun through the fog and see the disc of the sun in a similar fashion. I didn’t look for long in either case as it’s still probably not the safest of things to do but this unusual fog had reminded me of this photo a few years ago from the bush fires.
It’s early Monday morning here and the work week is about to start, so I am off to deal with that. Hope everyone has a great week ahead… and please…
