They are pretty much trying to achieve the same thing, but that’s part of the issue. I get that linux and the open source community is about choice and freedom, but having 2 options for developers to choose to package their application in with the potential that choosing one or the other means half the community won’t use it because they don’t like that format.

I’m in the Flatpak camp because I’m familiar with it through Fedora and it seems to be quick and easy. I guess it just seems pointless to have more fragmentation potential when it makes it harder for a commercial developer to choose.
