The "justice" system is a bit of a joke even here in Australia where people get away with things like this all the time while others have the book thrown at them for much less.

It seems common practice here for cyclists to ride in the middle of the road at peak hour causing traffic delays and problems while giving the finger to anyone who dares express their frustration. No wonder car drivers are annoyed. Though granted there are also plenty of inconsiderate self-centered people driving cars too.

Although lately those electric scooters are somewhat taking over as the menace on the roads and footpaths, perhaps giving cyclists a bit of a break.

I have a mountain bike which I ride on forest trails. The forest is within riding distance, but I always put the bike in the car to get there because it's not worth the potential hassle or risk riding with traffic.

I think it all comes down to people not being self-centered arseholes and showing a bit more respect to those around them. It's really not that hard and the world would be a better place for it.
