I grew up near the beach and it was a big part of my younger life I suppose. These days I tend to prefer a cool mountain stream and a good forest but it is nice at times to come back to the beach and revisit those memories.

I always inevitably end up sunburnt and feeling like I've had more than enough salt to last a while but it's a good time none the less.

I grew up mostly on the Sunshine coast, around Caloundra area and had a good mix of surf and still waters without it being a huge city of skyscrapers. It's probably a lot different these days. Despite being relatively close still, I rarely end up back there. I'll have to put it on my todo list to go and spend a day in my childhood town and see what's changed over the years I've been gone.
