Censoring videos using Shotcut
What is Shotcut?
Shotcut is a free, open source and cross platform video editing application that is easy to use but has some powerful tools to make it easy to put together quality videos without the costs of some commercial software.
For this tutorial we will look at using a simple mask and the mosaic filter to pixelate a subjects face.
Importing the footage
Just drag and drop your video clip into the playlist tab in shotcut to make it available for editing. You’ll see a preview of the video clip show up on the right.
You can scrub through the clip or play it normally but we won’t be able to do any editing until we add it to the timeline. So drag it from the playlist and drop it into the Timeline area at the bottom.
