There is about 27 weeks left of 2021 so here is a list of suggestions for photo topics you can tackle each week to keep you shooting and maybe take you out of your photography comfort zone.
1. Self portrait
Self portraits can be tricky to get right if you’re using a camera. Focusing is half the challenge but also lighting and framing the shot. A remote trigger can help to get focus and take the shot as well. Setting the self timer and using that can also help.
2. Reflection
Capture an image that clearly reads as a reflection. This could be something like the sky or vegetation reflected on the still surface of a lake. It could be a self portrait using a mirror or a more sensual boudoir type shot involving a mirror. It could be a reflection in the surface of a glass building. There are reflections all over the place, even a puddle of water after rain (or man made).
3. Silhouette
Often I see people mistaking shadows for silhouette. A silhouette will have an exposed background with the main subject being either completely or mostly dark against the properly exposed (or slightly brighter) background.
